The heir to the throne will visit west London and Surrey to recognize the work of local communities and environmental organisations, Kensington Palace said in a statement. It will be Prince William’s first work assignment since his wife said she was undergoing chemotherapy for an unspecified type of cancer.

In March, Princess Kate told the public that her doctors had discovered cancer. In the published video she states that the abdominal surgery scheduled for January was successful. According to her, it was initially assumed that it was not an oncological problem. However, the latest tests have confirmed this.

“It was, of course, a great shock and William and I did everything we could to process the situation and make arrangements for our family,” the mother of three said. Doctors advised her to undergo chemotherapy. “It took me a while to recover from this difficult operation and start treatment,” she explained.

Kensington Palace has not revealed what type of cancer the princess is dealing with. At the same time, the monarchy stressed that she also has the right to privacy in health matters.
